GradingNew Students start with a foundation knowledge of the basic techniques, blocks, punches and kicks and a basic pattern. With regular training, repetitive practice and review from their instructors Students are shown how to perform techniques accurately and effectively until they have shown a grasp of their current curriculum.

It normally takes two months, for a Student to attain a satisfactory level of competency and technical accuracy, and in the opinion of the Chief Instructor, ready to be Graded for their next belt level

The School holds a Belt Grading ceremony once a month, whereby any eligible students have the opportunity to grade for their next belt rank.

Gradings are undertaken by an external panel comprising of Senior Examiners and Associate Examiners of Choi Kwang Do. The Panel assesses that each Student has a competent understanding and application of the Choi Kwang Do techniques required at their belt level, and is ready to be promoted to their next belt level.

The Grading Panel will not ask Students to perform any techniques or drills that have not been covered in class.

On successful promotion to a their new rank, new techniques, patterns, and drills are available to Students to provide the next step in their Choi Kwang Do (CKD) progression.
